Team RADIANS Takes On Shanghai Resident's Dilemma
Which dilemma are we referring to? It’s a very familiar one especially if you are an expat living in Shanghai, It’s a question that most tai-tai’s are always exchanging notes on and one of the first questions for any foreigner coming to China. Any guesses?
The dilemma refers to “Where should I buy my produce”. Can I trust the locally branded products? Should I buy produce at the local markets like the local population? Is it safe to eat ?
Team RADIANS made up of 2 SAS PD students (Alan Liang, Rishab Chander) and one Concordia International School student (Saumya Chugh) and their team advisor Dr. Bhagyashri Chander decided to tackle this issue for a science project. The team submitted this project an online science fair, eCybermission (http://ecybermission.com) that is sponsored by the U.S. Army for students in grades 6-9 in order to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) based learning.
The competition in its 10th year attracted over 2000 project submissions across the world. Team RADIANS project called "Shanghai's Dilemma" was selected as the one of the top 16 projects and the team now travels to Washington DC in June to compete for the National Title.
